Lisa's Design Journey
My Mission
I value integrity, reliability, and open communication, which are reflected in everything I do. I am highly motivated and seek to use my skills, based on best practices in instructional design, to creatively develop and implement meaningful and engaging eLearning content. I continuously strive to grow and adapt in my field so I may earnestly, effectively, and efficiently meet the needs of diverse groups of learners.
Why Instructional Design?
As a lifelong learner, I have always been drawn to new educational and career development opportunities. Instructional design, however, came to me by surprise. Historically, I have combined my passion for learning and teaching with my love of the outdoors. In doing so, I created engaging, approachable, and memorable learning experiences for diverse groups of learners in snowboarding, hiking, and rock climbing. When I serendipitously came across the field of instructional design, my first thought was, "I didn't know I could study this as a field of its own," and secondly, I thought, "I want to do this!"
Now, after completing my master's degree in instructional design, I have fully delved into and embraced the course design process, including learning about the people for whom I'm designing and researching and implementing the tools that will support my learners. I am still creating meaningful and memorable learning experiences for people, and I look forward to doing so for many years.
